HC Deb 27 November 1978 vol 959 cc16-7W
27. Mr. Spriggs

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will publish in the Official Report the names and countries of origin of firms which are exporting horticultural glass to the United Kingdom, and the difference in the level of selling prices in the country of origin and the prices, per square metre, when sold to their customers in the United Kingdom during the last 12 months for which the above information is available.

Mr. Meacher:

We can provide details of identifiable imports of horticultural sheet glass by country of origin, but not the names of the exporting firms or wholesale or retail prices in their domestic or the United Kingdom market. The information is as follows:

tions under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Mr. Meacher:

The Government accord the highest priority to measures to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons. A wide range of goods, some of which could contribute to nuclear proliferation, is subject to control under the Export of Goods (Control) Order 1978. This control was extended by amending the order with effect from 9th November 1978 to prohibit the export to any destination of certain frequency changers except under the authority of a licence.
