HC Deb 24 May 1978 vol 950 c628W
Mr. Brotherton

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what is the total amount of public funds that have been available in development aid in the form of loans since 1974; what is the sum that has been repaid to date; when the final repayments are expected; and whether there have been any cases of failure to make repayments by the time limit agreed.

Mrs. Hart

From 1973–74 onwards, £419.5 million, none of which has been repaid to date, as all loans have a grace period. Most repayments are over a 25-year term, with final repayments at varying dates up to the financial year 2002–2003. The question of any failure to repay within time limits does not therefore arise.
