asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the total deficit of the National Bus Company since its formation; and what this figure would be expressed at 1977 survey prices.

The National Bus Company's total deficit from its formation to the end of 1976 is £27 million. At 1977 survey prices the figure is £39.4 million.
