HC Deb 23 March 1978 vol 946 c787W
Mr. Carmichael

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland by what date he calculates the traffic volume on the section of the M8, from Riddrie to the Ballieston roundabout, now under construction, will equal or exceed the lower design flow figures given in his answer to the hon. Member for Glasgow, Kelvingrove, on 13th March 1978.

Mr. McElhone

The section of the M8 from Riddrie to the Baillieston interchange is being constructed to dual three-lane motorway standard and it is expected that the lower design flow figure of 45,000 vehicles per 16-hour day will be achieved immediately the road is open to traffic.
