Mr. Gordon Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what residential assessment and child psychiatric facilities are available to children's hearings throughout Scotland; and if he is satisfied with current provision.

Residential assessment centres and child and adolescent psychi- atric units available for children, including those referred from the children's hearings, are listed below.

Assessment and psychiatric services have increased over the years and further improvements are planned. It is for local authorities and health boards respectively to determine the provision needed for their areas in the light of local circumstances and of available resources.
