HC Deb 31 July 1978 vol 955 c142W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether it is the policy of the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland to award contracts for works on public buildings to firms based in the United Kingdom; and what exceptions are made.

Mr. Concannon

Under the terms of EEC directive 71/304, contracting firms of any member State have access to contracts awarded by Northern Ireland Departments on equal terms with United Kingdom contractors.
