Whether they will state the total cost of completing the national headquarters of the Child Benefit Centre at Emerson, Washington, Tyne and Wear opened in April 1976; and (a) what was the cost per square metre of floor-space; (b) how many staff are employed; (c) are the buildings fully occupied.
§ Baroness BIRK£5.9 million. The cost per square metre of agents letting area was just over £344. About 1,000 staff work at Emerson at present. The buildings will not be fully occupied until a transfer of work from the Newcastle Central Office has been completed.
