HC Deb 20 February 1978 vol 944 cc462-3W
Mr. Rost

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if the proposed building regulations for non-domestic buildings will include minimum thermal insulation standards for glazed areas, as recommended by the Buildings Working Group of the Advisory Council on Energy Conservation.

Mr. Armstrong

Yes. The proposals we circulated last summer envisaged controlling the total area of glazing in roofs and walls. The advisory council welcomed this approach, and it will be embodied in the regulations which my right hon. Friend hopes soon to lay before Parliament.
