HC Deb 20 February 1978 vol 944 c463W
Mr. Michael Morris

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many (a) local authority houses, (b) local authority flats, (c) new town houses and (d) new town flats have been sold in England and Wales in each year since 1970.

Mr. Armstrong

No breakdown of the numbers of dwellings sold into houses and flats is available. Information on the numbers of dwellings sold in each of the years 1970 to 1976 is available in Housing and Construction Statistics, Issues 15 and 21. It is provisionally estimated that in 1977 local authorities sold 12,600 dwellings, and new towns 365 dwellings, including those built specifically for sale.
