HC Deb 15 December 1978 vol 960 c657W
Mr. Scott

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) whether he will call in the papers concerning the future use of the former site of the College of St. Mark and St. John in Chelsea so as to ensure that the future use of the site is put to the maximum benefit of the local community;

(2) what action she proposes to take to ensure that the former site of the college of St. Mark and St. John in Chelsea is retained for educational purposes.

Mr. Guy Barnett:

Responsibility for determining the future use of the site lies primarily with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea as the local planning authority. I am not aware of any planning application currently before the borough council to develop the site for educational purposes, and I see no grounds for calling in any planning proposals to redevelop the site.
