HC Deb 03 August 1978 vol 955 c581W
Mr. Grylls

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what plans he has for expanding the training of toxicologists to meet the future needs of the Health and Safety Executive; and how many he expects to be in the Health and Safety Executive by the end of the year 1979–80.

Mr. John Grant

The provision of courses for the training of toxicologists and any need for expansion are matters for consideration by the Secretary of State for Education and Science.

The chairman of the Health and Safety Commission has advised me that the future staffing requirements of the Health and Safety Executive in respect of toxicologists are at present under consideration and it is not yet possible to say how many may be expected to be in post by the end of the year 1979–80.
