§ Mr. MoyleDoctors were informed in 1976 of the view of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation that any women regularly receiving family planning advice should be screened serologically and, if found to be sero-negative, offered rubella—German measles—vaccination. Advice about the value of such vaccination is being given at family planning clinics in a number of areas and my Department is considering steps to encourage its provision in all areas.
My officials are also considering a number of recommendations, designed to improve the rubella vaccination uptake, made by the Faculty of Community Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians following a recent review of rubella vaccination.
