§ Mrs. Wiseasked the Attorney-General whether there have yet been any cases in which United Kingdom judges have been called upon to decide between laws enacted by Parliament and EEC legislation; and whether he accepts the statement in the EEC Commission background report, issued 22nd May, that such conflicts can arise.
§ The Solicitor-GeneralI am not aware of any case in which a United Kingdom judge has been called on to decide between laws enacted by Parliament and directly applicable Community law. It is possible that, under the constitutions of some member States, such a conflict could arise.
