§ Mr. Mayhewasked the Secretary of State for Transport whether the estimate of £1 million as the cost of the Pembury bypass on the A21, given in the White Paper "Policy for Roads: England 1978", has been made on the basis that the bypass will have dual carriageways in each direction, or on what alternative basis.
§ Mr. HoramThe standard of road has not yet been decided. The estimate of £1 million is a rough order of cost based on the approximate length.
§ Mr. Mayhewasked the Secretary of State for Transport whether he will now answer the letter sent to the Under-Secretary of State on 23rd February, by the hon. and learned Member for Royal 240W Tunbridge Wells, of which a reminder was sent on 22nd March, concerning the Pembury bypass on the A21.
