HC Deb 06 April 1978 vol 947 c209W
Mr. Hooley

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what response the United Kingdom will make to the appeal by Lesotho for emergency assistance arising from the blockading of its border with the Transkei region of South Africa.

Mr. Rowlands

We have previously pledged £2 million towards the programme of emergency assistance recommended by a United Nations mission to Lesotho in 1977. We await the report of a further United Nations mission to Lesotho sent in response to the Government's appeal to the United Nations Secretary General.
