HC Deb 26 October 1977 vol 936 cc732-3W
Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his estimate of the increased revenue for the current year and the next full year to be derived from the increased prices of children's vitamin drops from 8p to 9p and the much larger 70 per cent. increase for vitamin tablets.

Mr. Deakins

It is estimated that additional revenue in England will be:

1977–78 1978–79
(part year) (full year)
£ £
Vitamin drops 6,800 18,000
Vitamin tablets* 9,500 25,000
*Increased from 10p to 17p per container.

The new prices for vitamin tablets do not cover the full production and distribution costs.
