Mr. Corbett

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will list in the Official Report those regional health authorities and area health authorities which have provided specific funding for kidney research in each of the last three years for which figures are available.

Local research in England is organised by regional health authorities and by the London postgraduate teaching hospitals. Each of these authorities has its own research committee on whose advice projects are approved. The following table indicates (*) the health authorities which supported proposals concerned with kidney research during the last three financial years:
