§ Mr. Guy BarnettPreston's house building programme like those of other local authorities is its own responsibility. The programme for Central Lancashire New Town is geared to the target figure of 285,000 which my right hon. Friend announced in July.
The Development Corporation has been authorised to accept tenders for the construction of 748 rented houses this year, and the building of houses for sale on land owned by the Development Corporation is going ahead satisfactorily.
