§ 51. Mr. Loydenasked the Secretary of State for Transport what progress has been made on the proposed Garston Bypass.
§ Mr. HoramAs I have previously advised my hon. Friend, the bypass is to be constructed as a principal road by Merseyside County Council. The timing of 251W its construction is a matter for the county to decide in the light of resources made available to it under the transport policies and programme system. The expenditure allocation for 1978–79 should be known by the county council by the year end, and it will then be able to make a decision about starting the bypass.
