Mr. Fitt

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is his estimate of the number of children in Northern Ireland who are partially sighted.

Mr. Carter

There are approximately 95 children in Northern Ireland who are partially sighted within the definition set out in the Handicapped Pupils and Special Schools Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1973.

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is his estimate of the number of adults in Northern Ireland who are partially sighted.
