asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement about the forthcoming State visit of the President of Romania.

Mr. Luard:

The President of Romania, Mr. Nicolae Ceausescu, and Madame Ceausescu have accepted the invitation of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh to pay a State Visit to the United Kingdom from 13th to 16th of June 1978. The invitation was first issued by the previous Administration in 1973, and was confirmed when the present Government took office.
