HC Deb 27 May 1977 vol 932 cc650-1W
Mr. Rhodes James

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the contribution made by the Exchequer to teachers' superannuation in the financial year 1975–76 under the Pensions (Increase) Acts.

Mrs. Shirley Williams

I have been asked to reply.

The toal cost of the element in teachers' pensions attributable to the Pensions (Increase) Act 1971 in 1975–76 was £67 million. This figure relates only to teachers pensioned under the scheme for England and Wales.
