§ Mr. Urwinasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why income tax relief on house mortgage interest payments is not payable to all mortgagors in the employ of Her Majesty's Government.
§ Mr. Robert Sheldon, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 26th May 1977; Vol. 932. c. 567], gave the following information:
Income tax relief on house mortgage interest is available to employees of Her Majesty's Government on the same conditions as apply to mortgagors in general.
