§ Lord PEARTThe Law Lords, the Solicitor-General, the Treasury Solicitor and their respective staffs carried out part of the normal duties of their respective offices and received no fee or additional payment. Payments to junior counsel for the Crown borne on public funds totalled £800 plus VAT. The cost of shorthand writing was £875 and the cost of printing and publishing the proceedings was £7,650.
