§ Mr. JohnInformation is not readily available in the form requested. 585 inmates in 1975 and 725 inmates in 1976—the latter figure is provisional—were114W dealt with within the prison system for the disciplinary offences of assaulting or doing gross personal violence to officers. In addition, 30 inmates who had been provisionally charged withn the prison system with the disciplinary offence of doing gross personal violence to officers were prosecuted in the criminal courts during the period. Details of the sentences imposed in these cases are not identifiable centrally. I will see what information can be obtained, and I will write to the hon. Member.
