HC Deb 09 May 1977 vol 931 cc314-5W
Mr. Anderson

asked the Secretary of State for Wales why leukaemia, which was formerly classified as a regional speciality, has been removed from the list of prescribed specialties as set out in the document on resource allocation for Wales.

Mr. Barry Jones

Because, with the appointment of an increasing number of consultant haematologists in Wales treatment for leukaemia is now normally available in most district general hospitals.
