§ Mr. Terry Walkerasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will provide a breakdown of how funds allocated for 131W the development of solar energy will be spent.
§ Mr. EadieMy Department's funds will be allocated broadly in accordance with the relative priorities indicated in the recently published report by the Department's Energy Technology Support Unit, "Solar Energy: its potential contribution within the United Kingdom", Energy Paper Number 16. This will mean that over the next four years just over three-quarters of the £3.6 million allocated will be devoted to water and space heating, some 16 per cent. to biological systems and the remainder to the collection and collation of insolation data.
