§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Energy whether any loans have been granted to the National Coal Board with his authority under Section 2(5) of the Coal Industry Act 1973.
§ Mr. EadieIn January and September 1975 my right hon. Friend gave authority under this section, with the appoval of the Treasury, to the National Coal Board making loans to its subsidiary, NCB (Exploration) Limited. That subsidiary was transferred to the British National Oil Corporation in January 1976 and the loans repaid to the Board.
