HC Deb 10 March 1977 vol 927 cc634-5W
Mr. Spearing

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when the Property Services Agency was moved out of central London; how many civil servants moved from the old to the new location; and how many will now be asked to move out of London.

Mr. Marks

Headquarters directorates with over 2,500 posts were moved to Croydon between 1969 and 1973. There are in addition at the present time some 2,000 headquarters staff in offices in central London and at other locations in the London area. 3,000 jobs are to be dispersed to Teesside, but I cannot yet say how many of these staff will be asked to move when their work is dispersed from London.
