§ Mr. StrangThe approximate amounts of cholesterol to be found in the foods listed are, in milligrams per ounce: whole egg 130 (egg white zero), milk 4, single cream 20, double cream 40, butter 65, Cheddar cheese 20, most meats 15-30, liver and kidney 75–120, fish 15–40. There is considerable variation in the cholesterol content of different meats and fish, and the method of cooking will also affect the amounts present.
