§ Mr. Austin Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many children within the Grimsby parliamentary constituency are in the care of the local authority; and how this figure compares with the position at the same date for each of the last five years.
§ Mr. MoyleChildren-in-care statistics are collected centrally only in respect of local authority areas. However, I am informed by the Humberside County Council that the estimated number of children in its care whose address before coming into care was in the Grimsby parliamentary constituency was 230 in March 1976 compared with 251 in March 1975, 285 in March 1974, 300 in March 1973 and 271 in March 1972.
