Mr. Henderson

asked the Secretary of state for Education and Science how many copies of each of the following newspapers are purchased every day by her Department in order to keep herself and senior civil servants informed on Scottish affairs: the Scotsman, the Glasgow Herald, the Press and Journal, the Daily Record, the Scottish Daily Express and the Dundee Courier and Advertiser.

Two copies of both theScotsman and the Glasgow Herald are taken by the Department's Press Officer. None of the other publications listed is taken.
