Mr. Brotherton

asked the Secretary of State for Industry when he expects the new terms and conditions of employment to be negotiated for Mr Michael Casey, Chief Executive of National Shipbuilders and Repairers; and whether the revised salary will be the same as, or in excess of, that paid to Mr Graham Day.

Mr. Les Huckfield

Mr. Casey has been seconded for the present from my Department as an Under-Secretary. The salary of an Under-Secretary is less than that paid to Mr. Day.
