§ Mr. Les HuckfieldThe latest available estimate of industrial expenditure on research and development on ships and marine engines relates to 1972–73 and amounts to £7.2 million of which £3–3 million, or 46 per cent. was funded by Government. This includes the extramural but not intromural expenditure of the Ministry of Defence.
