§ Mr. FreesonThe Borner Committee's recommendation for simplified machinery to settle small claims was pursued in the Community Land Act 1975, which includes a provision—paragraph 3 of Schedule 10—enabling the Lands Tribunal, with the consent of the claimant, to determine disputes without an oral hearing. Rules to implement this provision will shortly be laid before Parliament.
