HC Deb 15 February 1977 vol 926 c194W
Sir S. McAdden

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he is satisfied with the safety of processed link keyboard units used in Government Departments and elsewhere; and whether he will have inquiries made into any possible health risks to the machine operators.

Mr. John Grant

I understand from the Chairman of the Health and Safety Commission that there is no significant health or safety risk to the operators of such units, since the radiation risks are substantially below the recommended maximum level. In cases where there have been complaints of fatigue or eyestrain, it has been found that they can be dealt with by careful attention to the ergonomic aspects of the work.
