Mr. Dempsey

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish in the Official Report figures showing the number of building trade workers unemployed in Lanarkshire at the most recent convenient date giving details of the various crafts to which these unemployed workers belong.

Mr. Golding

At August 1976, the latest date for which a full industrial analysis is available, there were 2,838 registered unemployed people who last worked in the construction industry in the former county of Lanarkshire. More recent information is available for those registered at employment offices for work in certain selected occupations and the following table shows this information for 13th January. It does not include all unemployed people who last worked in the industry.
