§ Mr. Andersonasked the Secretary of State for Wales on what lines the existing relationship in housing matters between the Welsh Office and the Council for the Principality will be developed as proposed in paragraph 6.11 of the Green Paper on Housing, Policy, Command Paper No. 6851.
§ Mr. John MorrisI have agreed with the Council for the Principality to establish a Welsh Consultative Committee for this purpose. The committee will act as a forum for discussion of major issues of concern to local housing authorities in the performance of their duties, and will tender advice to me and to housing authorities on these matters. The committee will meet and report as required. The chairman will be Mr. P. J. Hosegood, the Under-Secretary in charge of the Local Government, Housing and General Group at the Welsh Office. The Council for the Principality have nominated the following members:
Welsh Office members will be drawn from the appropriate divisions of the Department.
