Mr. Arthur Latham

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what plans he has to authorise the conduct of a further survey of hostel and lodging accommodation for single people.

This would now be for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment to decide.

Mr. Arthur Latham

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what steps he is taking to secure improvement of hostel accommodation for single people in accordance with the recommendations of the survey undertaken by the Supplementary Benefits Commission in October 1972.

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given to him by my right hon. Friend the Minister for Housing and Construction, to a similar Question on 14th December.
