§ Mr. Wakehamasked the Secretary of State for Employment when he expects to publish the Code of Practice on the Disclosure of Information to Trade Unions for Collective Bargaining.
§ Mr. Harold Walker,pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 20th October 1976, Vol. 917, c. 472], gave the following information:
In accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 17 of the Employment Protection Act, the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service published a consultative draft of the code of practice on 7th July. The draft will in 558W due course be revised in the light 01 the comments received, and a new draft may then be published by the service, and transmitted to me for approval and submission to both Houses of Parliament. Its implementation is dependent on the approval by resolution of each House.
§ Mr. Wakehamasked the Secretary of State for Employment what steps he intends to take to ensure that trade union negotiators are trained in the understanding and interpretation of the information contained in the Code of Practice on the Disclosure of Information to Trade Unions for Collective Bargaining.
§ Mr. Harold Walker,pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 20th October 1976, Vol. 917, c. 472], gave the following information:
Trade unions are well aware of the need to ensure that trade union negotiators are trained to understand information made available to them for collective bargaining purposes, and provide training facilities for their negotiators in co-operation with the TUC and the providers of further education. The Government are providing a measure of financial assistance to this work in recognition of the growing demands on trade unionists, as announced by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science on 5th August.
