HC Deb 21 October 1976 vol 917 cc514-5W
Mr. Michael Latham

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will outline the work carried out to date by the Building Integrity Division of the Building Research Establishment; what projects of investigation are currently in progress; what reports have been produced; and when they will be published.

Mr. Freeson

The new division has not quite reached its initial strength. It has already established links with many outside organisations and is now engaged in further recruitment and in reviewing its own scope, programme and procedures. It intends to work first on aspects of structural integrity affecting human safety, and in particular on problems involving roofing, wall ties and cladding. It has not yet produced any reports.
