§ Mr. McNamaraasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether it is intended that the Judges' Rules, which were introduced in England and Wales in 1964, should be adopted for the guidance of the police in Northern Ireland.
§ Mr. DunnThe Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland has signified the approval of Her Majesty's Supreme Court Judges to the introduction in Northern Ireland of the 1964 Judges' Rules. Accordingly, my right hon. Friend and I agreed with the Chief Constable of the Royal Ulster Constabulary that these Rules should be brought into use in Northern Ireland on 8th October 1976, and that the Judges' Rules 1918 should then be superseded.
