HC Deb 22 November 1976 vol 919 c925W
Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people have been served with deportation notices during November 1976 because of their association with the KGB or other Soviet organisations.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

It would not be in the public interest to give information of this kind.

Mr. Rose

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will now withdraw the deportation order against Mr. Mark Hosenball of the Evening Standard.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

I have not yet made a deportation order. As I have made clear, I shall consider most carefully any representations made to me, and the views of the advisory panel, should Mr. Hosenball submit them to it, before finally deciding whether to do so.

Mr. Ryman

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what are the grounds upon which he has made a deportation order relating to Miss Olga Davila Concha, a refugee from Chile; and whether he will reconsider her application to be allowed to remain in the United Kingdom.

Dr. Summerskill

Miss Concha has appealed against a refusal to extend her permission to remain in this country beyond 15th December to which her stay had been extended to allow her to recover from a temporary medical condition. A hearing of her appeal is awaited. No deportation order has been made.
