§ 38. Mr. Kenneth Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Employment what increase in property and rent charges have been incurred by the Manpower Services Commission since ceasing to be employment exchanges and becoming jobcentres.
§ Mr. GoldingI am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that it 531W is not practicable to say what increase in premises costs has been incurred as a result of the replacement of old style employment offices by jobcentres, since, prior to 1st April 1975, when the Employment Service Agency took over financial responsibility, the premises were provided by the Property Services Agency on an allied service basis and the costs were not separately identified.
