HC Deb 06 May 1976 vol 910 c451W
Mrs. Dunwoody

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he expects a decision to be taken about New Zealand cheese and lamb.

Mr. Strang

The European Council agreed at its meeting in Dublin on 10th March 1975 that the question of imports of New Zealand cheese after 1977 should be considered with appropriate urgency, and we expect that discussions will take place later in the year. The question of the tariff on New Zealand lamb is being pursued in discussions on a common sheepmeat régime.
