§ Mr. Kenneth Clarkeasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he proposes to change the requalification test for unemployment benefit following the representations of Equity on the effect of the current test on their members.
§ Mr. OrmeWe are still considering representations received from a number of sources, but the requalification test could be changed only by amending the Social Security Act 1975, and there is in any event no immediate prospect of a suitable opportunity for introducing the necessary legislation.
