HC Deb 04 May 1976 vol 910 c294W
Mr. Litterick

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if the fingerprints of several hundred school-children taken by the Northumbrian Constabulary in January 1976 in connection with a murder investigation are now part of the National Fingerprint Collection held at Scotland Yard.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

No. I understand that with the exception of the fingerprints of a person who has been charged with the murder all the fingerprints taken in the course of this investigation have, as promised, been destroyed.
