asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many local education authorities have completely comprehensive secondary education; and how many of these are completely co-educational.

Mr. Mulley

By September 1976 it is expected that 40 local education authorities will have completed comprehensive reorganisation although in some a number of voluntary selective schools will remain for the time being; in 13 of these local education authorities all comprehensive schools are co-educational.
