Mr. Peter Bottomleyasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will estimate the number of job chances and dismissals which have resulted from the operation of union membership agreements in the public sector, nationalised industries and the private sector; and whether he is satisfied with the system of notification.
§ Mr. Harold WalkerI have no basis on which to make such an estimate; information about job changes and dismissals is not required to be notified to my Department. I am satisfied that any such notification system would be quite impracticable.
