asked the Secretary of State for Trade what proportion of overseas tourists visited the North-West Region during 1976.

Mr. Meacher

It is estimated that in 1973 about 4½ per cent. of visitors to the United Kingdom visited the North-West Region. Figures for later years are not yet available.
